CYBER MONDAY: Online Shopping to Break Records

Black Friday shoppers spent a record-breaking $9 billion online as the pandemic kept most holiday shoppers at home, and retail experts predict a huge surge in Cyber Monday sales.

TeeRoy's 2 Cents:

  • Don't think items will sell out? Just ask anyone who tried to get a Playstation 5 this weekend.
  • Toys like Lego sets are very popular this year as parents are trying to give kids something to do that doesn't involve staring at a screen.
  • People always seem to have money for holiday gifts.

Black Friday shoppers spent a record-breaking $9 billion online as the pandemic kept most holiday shoppers at home, and retail experts predict a huge surge in Cyber Monday sales.

Cyber Monday deals are expected to draw record-breaking sales of more than $12 billion as shoppers plan to steer clear of in-person shopping, according to Adobe Analytics. The biggest deals this year will be on computers and electronics, which consumers may find for as much as 30 percent off. Toys, appliances and TVs are also expected to be deeply discounted. Even brands that aren't normally discounted are cutting their prices. But experts advise shoppers to act fast as many hot items are going fast. (NY Daily News)
