A$AP Relli recalled the moment when he dared his former friend A$AP Rocky to shoot him after he allegedly pulled out a gun during their heated argument.
The former A$AP Mob member took the witness stand on Tuesday, January 28, during Rocky's gun assault trial in Los Angeles. During his testimony, Relli, born Terell Ephron, described the events leading up to their intense meet-up in 2021. He told the court the incident happened minutes after they confronted one another near Ephron's hotel in West Hollywood. Once he noticed the gun, Ephron said he was shocked at first but ultimately urged Rocky to pull the trigger.
"I became furious," Ephron said on the stand. "I told him to use it. Because mentally I couldn't believe he had pulled a gun out on me. So I'm like 'What the f**k? Like you better use that s**t. The f**k you got a gun for?"
Ephron and Rocky, born Rakim Mayers, had been friends since high school. He said their longtime friendship came to an end a day before the alleged shooting after he heard Rocky talking smack about him during a call with A$AP Bari. The following day Ephron's phone was inundated with calls and texts from Rocky while he was sleeping. He claimed Rocky texted him, "Let's get to it ... stop ducking my calls."
Ephron said he sent Rocky his location and the rapper pulled up with two other men. Once their argument broke out, Rocky allegedly pulled the weapon out from his waistband and fired in his direction. The bullet grazed Ephron's knuckles, which required medical treatment.
Rocky was charged with two felony counts of assault with a semiautomatic firearm. He pleaded not guilty and declined a plea deal ahead of his trial. His attorneys argued Rocky was only carrying a prop gun that night for security reasons and claimed Ephron was trying to extort him. If convicted, Rocky could face up to 24 years in prison.
