Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes said his team's loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Super Bowl LV is the one that still haunts him.

"Pretty easy. The Super Bowl versus Tampa Bay," Mahomes responded when asked which game he replays in his head the most via NFL Network's Cameron Wolfe.

The Buccaneers defeated the Chiefs, 31-9, in what was Mahomes' only Super Bowl loss in his first four appearances. The former Texas Tech standout, who was then just a year removed from his first Super Bowl victory, threw for 270 yards and two interceptions on 26 of 49 passing, while being constantly pressured in the backfield by the Tampa Bay pass rush.

The game would've also otherwise served as a passing of the torch, but instead saw Tom Brady outperform Mahomes, then 25, by throwing for 201 yards and three touchdowns on 21 of 29 passing to win his seventh Super Bowl and fifth Super Bowl MVP at the age of 43.

Mahomes, now 29, is still the greatest threat to matching Brady's legacy, as he's set to appear in his fifth Super Bowl, having already won three of the last five with the Chiefs entering as back-to-back defending champions looking to become the first team in NFL history to win three consecutive. Kansas City will face the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LIX on Sunday (February 9), a rematch of Super Bowl LVII, which was played two years prior.
