Rapper Lil Wayne disappointed fans by not appearing at his scheduled concert in Bangor, Maine, on Tuesday (June 30). The event was meant to kick off his "20 Years of Carter Classics" tour at the Maine Savings Amphitheater. Despite the absence, opener 2 Chainz performed, but Lil Wayne, did not take the stage.
According to the Bangor Daily News, fans were informed around 11 p.m. that the rapper would not perform. Concertgoers expressed their frustration, with some having traveled long distances to attend. Rita Sack, who drove over six hours from Nova Scotia, shared her disappointment, saying, "We paid for Lil Wayne. The least you can do is come out for a minute, apologize."
Lil Wayne later apologized to fans and announced a rescheduled date for July 28. Existing tickets will be honored, and additional information will be emailed to ticket holders. In his statement, Lil Wayne expressed his appreciation for his fans and his eagerness to return and deliver the show they deserve.
The tour, which celebrates the legacy of his iconic Tha Carter album series, will continue with stops in cities like Chicago, Long Beach, Denver, and Fort Worth. Despite the setback, fans like Makayla Sullivan remain optimistic, planning to attend his upcoming show in New Hampshire.
