Todd and Julie Chrisley, the well-known couple from the reality show Chrisley Knows Best, are finally heading home. On May 28, President Donald Trump signed full pardons for both of them, wiping out their convictions for fraud and tax evasion from 2022. The couple had been serving long sentences in federal prison: Todd faced 12 years while Julie faced 7. They were also on the hook for nearly 18 million dollars in restitution.
Federal prosecutors had claimed the Chrisleys used fake documents to secure more than 30 million dollars in bank loans and later hid income from the IRS. Even so, the presidential pardon means their records are now cleared and their prison terms end immediately.
Their daughter, Savannah, shared the news with an emotional video on social media. She said the president called her as she was walking into a Sam’s Club store to say he was signing the paperwork. Savannah, now 25, has been caring for her younger siblings Grayson, 19, and Chloe, 12, since her parents went to prison. She said she is grateful that her family will finally be together again.
Fans of the show cheered the decision, though critics argue that pardoning high-profile figures sends a troubling message about accountability for white-collar crimes.
